Rolex 16248 “Bark” Onyx Datejust

This Rolex Datejust reference 16248 is notable for its unique “Bark” finish – a textured pattern resembling tree bark. This Bark finish is applied to the bezel and to the center links of the Jubilee bracelet. This intricate detailing adds a distinctive character to the classic Datejust design, but also gives this watch a very unique appearance. Also, the reference 16248 is a highly unusual reference within the Datejust series, particularly when paired with an Onyx stone dial. Why? Most of the Datejusts that have Onyx dials are found under the 16018 and 16238 references – the 16248 “Bark” Onyx Datejust is a reference rarely seen, and in this particular configuration, the only one available in the world right now, literally.

Crafted from 18k yellow gold, this 16248 Datejust features its signature “Bark” finish which remains in near untouched condition – in our humble opinion, the Bark finished details on the entire watch remain unpolished. The Bark style adornments set this watch completely apart from other models in the Datejust lineup, but it doesn’t stop there. The dial inside this 16248 is manufactured from natural Onyx, a semiprecious stone which has been meticulously cut and polished to get the deepest and most perfect color black. In addition, this stone dial is set with two 18k yellow gold numerals, which both feature a diamond in the round part of the number. Additionally, please notice the very solid folding clasp with its beautiful Rolex crown: The condition of the crown and clasp speaks volumes about the overall condition of this fantastic watch (The crown logo is still very much apparent and solid, these are usually polished down). The bracelet is a so-called full bracelet, and is not missing any links, this watch can be worn on a wrist with a circumference of 16.5 to about 21cm.

This 16248 “Bark” Onyx Datejust with its self-winding Rolex caliber 3135 with quickset date, was fully serviced and will be delivered with our extensive two year warranty.
