16220 Datejust Porcelain Dial

This fresh and crisp-looking Rolex Datejust with reference 16220 features the purest white dial of them all, the Porcelain dial. Most of us are aware with the porcelain dial from the early and rare versions of the 16520 Zenith Daytona models, but Rolex also fitted several Datejust models with dials made of the same bright and lacquered material, which collectors refer to as the Porcelain Dial.

That dial obviously complements the entire watch here; the way the high gloss ‘Porcelain’ smiles at you when you look down at your watch is unlike anything else; the dial constantly plays with the light, making the indices and hands appear black at times and exactly what they are at others, 18k white gold. But also observe the sleek black lacquer lining inside those white gold Roman numerals; these aren’t immediately evident until you tilt the watch or view it from an angle, at which point the dial and markers appear radically different. Please also observe the matching and accurate set of hands on this 16220. These are equivalently made of 18k white gold, with a thin black lacquer line running down the center to match the Roman numerals. We’re bringing this up specifically because many of these dials are found with non-original, incorrect hands… after all, the devil is in the details! The slightly raised, black printed text has a lovely high gloss finish due to the way these dials were processed in production – It exudes excellent quality with a comprehensive high-end treatment on both the dial and the watch itself.

The center-case, part of this Porcelain gem, is still very thick and sharp with an engine-turned bezel to match. Another plus is that this watch is worn on its original 62510H Jubilee bracelet with 555B end-links; this wonderfully comfortable bracelet is likewise in excellent condition, with a clean Oyster clasp. The watch and its entire 3035 movement have been professionally serviced to Rolex factory specifications, and will be delivered with our extensive two year warranty.
